Love Hate Relationships

love hate relationships
I love you I hate you

Love-hate relationships to me are like an addiction to a drug. Your family and friends think your crazy for doing it. You want to quit because you know it’s bad for you (for what ever reason).  However you find yourself coming back for more and more no matter what, because you love the short term effects of it. Something about that person drives you wild and makes you coming back for more and that unfortunately lets you plummet further down, letting yourself be more vulnerable to heartache and pain.  Have you ever found your self in a love-hate relationship?  I have and I’m so thankful I’m out of it….

As described by wikipedia.org:

A love-hate relationship is a personal relationship between humans or organizations, or figuratively between a human and an inanimate object, like a computer, a field of study, a body of ideas, or a profession, involving simultaneous or alternating emotions of love and enmity. Sometimes the person may love the other person/object, but hate oneself for it. This relationship can, but does not have to be of a romantic nature.

Here are other’s ideas of love-hate relationships from friends and associates of mine

  • Jon: Being trapped between two diametrically opposite feelings…I love playing my guitar. I love playing music with all my heart and yet when I play and practice, I hate the fact that I ever got into it because after 20 years I feel like I still suck and I hate that I am moved to keep trying.
  • Robin: A love/hate relationship is equally liking and disliking parts of their personalities to the point where you are left in limbo.
  • Jamaica: Its everything and nothing at the same time for the briefest moments.
  • Marlene: With such passion I detest you; and yet the same passion draws me near

I found the following today and just wanted to add it in, to close off today’s post….

“When you’ve been around the block a few times, you tend to be a bit cynical about affairs of the heart. But sometimes, in spite of your best intentions, love sneaks up and whacks you upside the head. And there you are: wandering around in a blissful haze, totally besotted.”
