I just recently came across a meme I shared a few years back in my Facebook memories. It was simply the definition of a Sapiosexual. I never knew back then there was such a term. However I always knew I was. What is a Sapiosexialty?
Defined as:
- Noun: A person who is sexually attracted to a person’s intellect or mind before appearance
- Adjective: Sexually attracted to intellectual or mental qualities, rather than to the physical body
When I asked a Facebook group about what they thought, here is what some had to say:
“Yes, I am attracted to intelligence, but I think the term itself is pretentious”
“It’s a way for me to label myself and what I want in a romantic relationship”
“It could devalue people with disabilities”
Fun Sapiosexual Quotes
- “I love big brains, and I cannot lie.”
- “Never underestimate the seductive power of a decent vocabulary.
- “Brains are the new boobs.”
- “Please, say it again: how big is your library?”
- “Talk nerdy to me.”

Very interesting. Makes you wonder. I know for me, I’m still very superficial. Intellect is important too.
Looks are good to, but an intelligent mind is such a turn on 🤓
Intelligence is definitely a turn on, but lack of intelligence is not a turn off, if that makes sense. Also physical attraction isn’t something I consider often, neither is sexual attraction.
True although sexual and physical attraction can happen after getting to know the person
this is true x
